Homebound Quilt Pattern
Whether you enjoy modern quilt designs or more of the traditional approach, the Homebound Quilt has something for everyone.
The Homebound Quilt pattern includes two unique results: one fabric colorway leading to a more modern finish, and one involving a twist here and a fabric substitution there to achieve a more traditional look. The patchwork design allows you to reach for your scrap stash if you want to forgo the yardage.
The Homebound quilt finished lap quilt measures 49″ x 65″ with optional crib, twin, full, and king/queen sizes. Here’s what you’ll need for a modern lap quilt with an 8″ x 8″ block size:
• 1 1/4 yds of red print
• 1 1/4 yds of blue print
• 1 yd of white print
• 4 1/8 yds of fabric for backing
• 5/8 yd of fabric for binding
• Quilt Batting
Quilting Digest shows us how warm browns and tans, along with muted blue and red create a warm, inviting quilt. Play with color until you find just the right combination for you. A wide variety of fabrics give the Homebound quilt an appealing scrappy look.
