Handmade with Love | Star & Heart Present
It’s time to start working on block 5 of the Handmade with Love quilt along, the Star & Heart Present.
STAR & HEART PRESENT BLOCK
- Handmade with Love Pattern
- Assorted printed fabrics
- Heat erasing marking pen
- Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer
- Quilting ruler, rotary cutter, and mat
With the heart detail in the center, this block is beyond sweet and we love a good set of flying geese but this block has a twist. The Star & Heart Present block showcases a whole new technique for making flying geese.
You will need to make 3 Star & Heart Present quilt blocks to complete the Handmade with Love quilt top.
That means we are back at the machine making those half square triangles. Thank goodness for the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers. That ruler is seriously a MUST have in the studio!
To achieve flat seams, it is extremely important to be mindful of pressing direction as you work. While the pattern calls for all HST’s to be pressed towards the color, we suggestion pressing half towards the color side and half towards the white. That will help your seams nest tightly together.
With these blocks completed, the Handmade with Love quilt top is really coming together. We only have 2 more designs and 4 more blocks to stitch up.
