Handmade with Love | Block 3 Pinwheel Present
Say Hello to block 3, the Pinwheel Present quilt block from our Handmade with Love Sew-Along!

- Quilting ruler, rotary cutter, and mat
The Pinwheel Present quilt block is made from 4 colorful prints and our background fabric. The fabrics we choose have a holiday-inspired print and play nicely together with our other blocks.
The block consists of a few different units that include a bunch of half square triangles. With the help of a heat erasing marking pen, we were able to make quick work of drawing a line from corner to corner on each block.
To make the most of our time at the machine, we used chain piecing. This allowed us to avoid stopping and starting between each square.
Trimming our HST’s down to size was a breeze thanks to the help of the Clearly Perfect Slotted ruler! If you’ve never used this ruler before, we HIGHLY recommend it. Check out this quick video from Heather and see what we mean!
Once your HST’s are trimmed to size, it’s all about the assembly and pressing. Pressing those seams in the same direction is key and we love using Flatter spray by Soak. Not only does it smell amazing but it really helps our block stay nice and flat.
