The Diamond Pincushion pattern is a fun hand sewn project that uses the English paper piecing technique. The top fabric is fussy-cut to create the distinctive pattern. For those unfamiliar with the EPP method or needing a refresher, be sure to watch the video at the end of the post.
From the top down view, the fussy cutting yields a kaleidoscope effect. Play with a variety of prints to see the results, and go slow to get precise cuts. Fussy cutting requires you to start with a bit larger scrap than usually necessary to ensure you get the repeat on the fabric that you desire.
