Are you overflowing with greens in your scrap stash? Here’s the project for you!

Free Cactus Mini Quilt Pattern

Cactus decor is all the rage, and we love this patchwork cactus design. Mini quilts make great table toppers, wall hangings, or even mug rugs. Since only straight line stitching is required, this cactus quilt is perfect for a beginner quilter.

Cactus Quilt Pattern

Materials Needed

  • assorted green scraps
  • 1/8 yard of light blue
  • scrap of light brown
  • 1/8 yard of green stripe for binding
  • 10” x 12” scrap for backing
  • basic sewing supplies
  • sewing machine

The cactus is made up of 1 1/2″ square giving you the perfect opportunity to use up those tiny scraps. We love the ombre effect of this sample, but experiment with your own placement. Auditioning different fabrics is part of the fun! Incorporate scrappy binding for even more scrap busting action.
