Scrappy Rope Bowl
| |All quilters and sewers should have one of these cute bowls next to their sewing machine! This colorful catch-all is perfect to keep all sorts of clutter contained.
Quilting expert Heather Valentine demonstrates how to make this bowl from fabric and cord in a step by step video class.
In this video, you’ll learn how to:
- Turn your scraps into a pretty and useful bowl.
- Attach fabric strips to the clothesline with glue.
- Coil the fabric-wrapped cord as you put it through the machine.
- Create a simple pincushion to attach to the bowl.
Omit the optional pincushion for a versatile bowl to house anything from office supplies to makeup.
Materials Required:
- red tonal fabric
- strips assorted bright prints
- 3/16″-diameter cotton clothesline rope
- fiberfill
- fabric glue
- 90/14 or 100/16 sharp sewing-machine needle
- basic sewing tools and supplies
