Free Diamond Pincushion Pattern
| |The Diamond Pincushion pattern is a fun hand sewn project that uses the English paper piecing technique. The top fabric is fussy-cut to create the distinctive pattern. For those unfamiliar with the EPP method or needing a refresher, be sure to watch the video at the end of the post.
From the top down view, the fussy cutting yields a kaleidoscope effect. Play with a variety of prints to see the results, and go slow to get precise cuts. Fussy cutting requires you to start with a bit larger scrap than usually necessary to ensure you get the repeat on the fabric that you desire.
We love a good slow down and sew project that uses hand stitching. You might just find the Diamond Pincushion project on repeat when you get the hang of it. Fill with your favorite stuffing from fiberfill to crushed walnut shells. These diamond pincushions are perfect for gifting to your favorite sewist or swapping with your sewing buddies.
