Quilty Zip Pocket – Free Tutorial

This quilty zip pocket is perfect for your orphan quilt blocks!! We know all about those projects that get started with great intentions, but find themselves abandoned. Here’s one solution to those lonely, possibly forgotten, blocks. Give them new life as a zipper pouch!

The quilty zip pocket starts with a 6″ quilt block. Repurpose an old block or sew something new. If you have never installed a zipper before, have no fear. This tutorial will walk you through each step.

Zip pouches make great gifts. Fill one with sweet treats, project supplies, stickers, gift cards, and more for an extra special present.

Once you feel confident with the basic quilty pocket, it’s time to get creative. We love this idea of adding a strap for a purse style pocket.
