Microwave Bowl Cozies
| |Temperatures are starting to dip, so bring on the warm bowls of soup!
Left over soup is often better than the original, so employing microwavable cozies protects those fingers from the hot bowl surface when reheating. Heather Valentine from The Sewing Loft demonstrates how to get the most out of this oh-so-functional sewing pattern in her video class on Annie’s Creative Studio. Follow her tips to sew a simple three-piece set in just one day.
You may find that this set is perfect to keep or give away as a gift. We love the idea of sending a batch of bowl cozies along with a meal for a new mom, a sick friend, or as a house warming gift. Make some for your guests at a fall chili party.

I love making the bowl cozies. I’ve made them for Christmas gifts. Everyone loved them. They are pretty easy to make. When I was making a lot of them, I did it like an assembly line. Lots of fun and so easy.
I made about 60 of these in a few days, two sizes and everyone I gave them to loved them. It certainly used up my scrap box pretty quickly as I sewed smaller pieces of fabric to make a large piece for each side.
Love the bowl cozies and they are so nice to make and use as a present for someone. I do like to round my edges though instead of making them square. With the square edges they seem to always hit your spoon as your bringing it out of the bowl. Just makes them a little lower profile.
