Free Supernova Quilt Tutorial
| |The Supernova Quilt is a beginner friendly quilt comprised of half square triangles. The visual interest comes from the offset star feature that draws the eye away from the center of the quilt creating some movement. The quilt design looks so much more complicated than it actually is to sew.
You might be surprised to find the Supernova Quilt is a very simple one-block quilt design; the secret to creating the unique star design lies in the layout. Increase the dramatic effect by fading colors away from the star.
Finished size: approximately 60” x 60”
Turn 100 squares of fabric into 50 HST and you are well on your way to creating the Supernova Quilt. Step back and check your layout as you go to make sure your HST are continuing in the right direction.
